Frequently Asked Questions

  • Wigglebottoms serves West Seattle pets residing in zip codes 98106, 98116, 98126, 98136 and parts of 98146 (north of SW 106th Street).

  • Yes. Wigglebottoms has experience administering the following types of pet medication: oral medication (including “manually pilling”), transdermal ointments, asthma inhalers, eye and ear drops, topical solutions, injections and subcutaneous fluids. We are confident we can keep your pet on their normal medication routine, if your pet is comfortable being handled by someone other than you. If your pet is extremely shy or fearful of new people, will hide or be stressed out during administration, we recommend medical boarding for your pet’s health and well-being. Please note, medications with time-sensitive dosages (e.g. insulin injections or anti-seizure pills to be administered every 10-12 hours) will incur a supplemental fee.

  • No. For the health and safety of your cat, we require a drop-in visit at least every 24 hours. Although we herald our cat’s independence and enjoy the modern conveniences of automatic feeders, water dispensers, self-cleaning litter boxes, and pet cameras, these appliances must be monitored daily to ensure they are functioning properly. Also, our feline friend’s curiosity can cause havoc when left unchecked. Ever heard of kittens shutting themselves in a room without food, water, or a litter box? Turning on a faucet? Opening an automatic feeder and feasting on the contents? Burrowing to the bottom of a duvet cover, and not being able to find her way back out? We have witnessed all these kitty shenanigans! Most importantly, an experienced and observant pet sitter will notice small changes in your cat’s behavior, habits or physical appearance that may indicate a health concern. Relatively minor issues such as infections may have tragic outcomes if not addressed quickly. An untreated urinary tract blockage can become fatal in as little as 36-48 hours. Even a shy kitty will benefit from someone checking on their well-being every day their family is away.

  • No. Unlike other pets Wigglebottoms cares for, dogs rely on their pet sitter to relieve themselves early in the morning, midday and right before bedtime (possibly more frequently, depending on their age). Wigglebottoms is a solo operation, and does not have the resources to provide the dedicated, time-sensitive drop-in care a dog requires during extended trips, and we do not offer overnight care or pet boarding. We can, however, provide a single drop-in visit if you’re away from home for a long day of work or post-work engagements, but not while you are traveling.

  • No. Wigglebottoms no longer offers in-home pet boarding of any kind, and does not stay overnight in your home. We are happy to provide drop-in vacation care for your cat or other small animal. We do not provide drop-in vacation care for dogs.

  • No. Wigglebottoms is accepting new pet sitting clients, but not adding new dog playmates.

  • Yes. If requested, Wigglebottoms will water indoor plants or outside garden beds within the allotted time you have booked.

  • Contact us to ask about your special needs or unique circumstances. If Wigglebottoms can’t help you, we may be able to recommend some service providers who can!

  • All invoices are due in advance of services. Wigglebottoms accepts Zelle, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Google Pay, Apple Pay, ACH transfer (e-check), or an old-fashioned check.
